Summary: A small business owner and Federal Firearms Licensee (FFL) expresses concern that the proposed revisions to the 4473 form may increase complexity for both stores and customers. The commenter argues that the changes should not over-regulate the process and should prioritize simplicity for small shops that still utilize paper records.
While a makeover of the 4473 is long past due, it is virtually impossible to discern what the final form might look like from the approximately 56 pages in the PDF document. I am a double FFL holder, and with my business partner, am trying to survive this business slump right now because of the Iran war and a crap economy where people have to feed their children and family rather than spend on guns. I can somewhat envision what it might look like, and I believe it may complicate rather than simplify the 4473 form. We are a small shop and still use paper forms, unlike many stores that have gone electronic. I am 76 and just like paper. We don't do enough that storage is a problem. Please try to make it easier on the customers and the stores. Don't "government" it up too much. Thank you
