Summary: A small business owner (FFL holder) provides mixed feedback on the revised firearms transaction record, praising the customer information layout but criticizing the FFL section. The commenter specifically opposes the reduction in size of the FFL stamp box and suggests alternative layouts to improve clarity and functionality.
The changes being made for the customer section is a nice change. It puts the customer information at the top. I think that list of guns should be on the back of page 1 so that one page has the customer information and the guns purchased information together unless there are more than 3 guns on the form and that is additional sheet. I do not like the FFL section of the form at all. It is very confusing and hard to figure out what is needed. I also believe the box for the FFL information should be larger to accept stamps for business. The current form requires a special stamp to fit the information into the box and the new form just makes that area even smaller so any current stamps will not work and will be harder to fit the required information into the box. You might start the FFL required information below the list of guns if the form is completed the same day and have page 3 for delay or new certification date and page 4 of the form for additional paperwork to file with the form if needed. I do like that the new form list those additional items that need to be copied. Making copies for a small business like mine with no copier will be more difficult but will find a way to work around it. The FFL stamp box being decreased in size is my biggest problem with the form but the FFL section is also a concern of mine. Thank you
